making a twm(minor)l for lower tier teams maybe outside the top 8 in a division to let more people play and feel competitive. then maybe after the week after twl champs are crowned have the minors and the regular champs face off or something just for fun and bragging rights.

with the 35 cap per roster honestly dosent do much cause all a team really needs is there top 5-10 players and its the same exact squad, but if u can make a minor league for lower tier teams it could possibly draw interest to more people because the skill level would be fairer and teams would not have to compare themselves to dice/fierce/thunder as a way to measure there skill as a squad but maybe compare themselves to paladen as how good they are. What im trying to say is there isn't much reason for a completely new squad to play cause they would have to play years before being a real force unless they get pro players (the better players tend to stick together i have noticed), but a minor twl would do so much i just know it

just a few ways to go about team selection etc.
teams have to have been created at least 2 weeks before tourny.
all of the teams below the 8th rank can play in the tourny
games are 5 vs 5 .
double elimination style (1 game = best 2 of 3 rds)
locks are at the regular twl lock .
caps have 1 week to signup for the tourny if eligible after twl lock.
if odd number of teams then there will be byes for top seeded teams.
if its an odd number of teams like 13 then #1 will have no game and then play winner of #2 and #13
other games for 13 teams will be like this 3vs12 4vs11 5vs10 6vs9 7vs8
sunday games taking place right after or before TWL
arenas might can be .?go twlj twld
champions of the tourny play the TWL champs week after finals
all games monitored

just suggestions on how to start this and rules

UPDATE #2
This would be a good opportunity to put a spider league through a beta testing to see how it would work in a real twl and maybe gain interest points. Death match style seems to be the most liked style compared to the flag version on twsd.
i am currently figuring out the map editor for wb/jav/spid arenas and will try and get them to proper staff as soon as possible

There isn't enough activity for this. It's also not a new idea. When the game had more interest there were things like this to do, but those are long gone now.

this would be the best time to start this, all of these squads are just about equal in name size meaning that they are equal in activity
i have spoken to alot of the non 8 top squad caps and they all want to play even if it is not for twl. so there is no excuses for inactivity. changes can be tough but they are sometimes needed in times of crisis.

Based on current ladder rankings, TWLB is 8 teams, the teams left out would be

Hit, tenure, sonate (they've only bded 6 times) and dependency (bded twice)

Would definitely fail for Base, but if you can find enough captains that agree they would want to participate in this for DD and JD then lets get it set up. Doubt there will be enough interest though.

Call it amateur cup or something, make it a short version, just few squads and a few weeks. If its success you can plan bigger tournament in the future. Imo there are enough stable lower tier squads to participate, dependencey, paladen, purplereign, sonate, lego, tenure?
Perhaps this would also help create more stable squads, since they would actually have somthing to aim for instead of creating a squad and dissolving/caps leaving it in a week.
and not too much trouble to create own arena for this, too would spice it up a bit.

should be checked though, because we got quite a few "greedy" players, that people, being in top squads dont start squadhopping, caus that would totally ruin the idea of it.

I like the idea as well, thanks for suggesting it zih. I also agree that it should start out small and if it becomes popular enough and there's enough participation, then we can go all out on it.
