I'm well aware, are you aware that from an SEO standpoint that if your website is a direct search that it's significantly easier to rank well for it? I.e. if I own freegame.com I'm much more likely to come up for anyone searching "free game" even if there are 9 million competitors? The domain name is a direct search, that's why it's $$

There are a BUTT-TON of Diablo forum sites out there. Especially with D3 coming out. Saturated market.

I should add that there are alternatives to this, I don't necessary have to do it all, i.e. I could purchase the domain, someone could help with the VB skin (I'm pretty sure Jason or someone here made it), donations could be taken to purchase the vbulletin license, etc. I'm definitely open to getting help and not baring the whole thing, but that's entirely based on interest...

There isn't really a magic number, but the more people that say they'll help the more likely I am to do it.Originally posted by Burnt View PostWell it says there's 245 active members of this forum. Say 10% (which is probably optimistic not to mention most won't be able to post about diablo because they nothing about it) of those agree to post on your forum and each do an average of one post a day. That's 25 posts per day and 175 posts per week. Is that going to be enough to help make your forum popular enough so it's worth your investment?
To Salubrious: Maybe
Paradise is right, I think the bigger question is not really if 25 posts per day would be enough, but whether or not they would be about diablo 1, 2 or 3...I personally just played the original diablo and enjoyed it but I don't have as much time for gaming these days so I don't play anything else, I assumed a good portion of people from TW played diablo 1 or 2 and would possibly play d3.
LF: In the worst case scenario I can sell the domain and vbulletin forums and I'd be out maybe $1000...I'm trying to determine if it's worth throwing away $1000
Supreme: Though scrolling through it im still not entirely sure what you mean to do. Make a forum on a game (in this case diablo), try to get diablo members on it and then get them to check this game out? Isnt that a little far-fetched?
Yeah that's pretty much it, I don't think it's far fetched at all, I assume you play video games, would you be interested in hearing about another game, oh by the way it's free, and it's not browser based, see what I mean?

i agree with this. there are far "better" alternativesOriginally posted by Ilya View Postnot to be a dick but don't waste your money on this
this will not increase the player base
but if you wanna buy prophetstatement.com, i'd be willing to sell it to you for my friends & family discount of $500

Yeah but those are hardly perfect though. Give me one where it drops at least 80% of the vain bullshit with blabbering about 1995 (mention it but thats it) and put more emphasize on how to get in the game and how to get started.

This idea could work and gets my support, but I really doubt we have enough active forum members to make it happen. Nonetheless, if you decide to do this I can try to help you online (in game) to see if we can get more people involved into this project, whether it's periodical zoners or posting it on trenchwars.org website.
Just contact me in game (byakko) if you need some help with zoners and stuff -- that is if you really want to do this. I can't speak for myself, but I'm sure there's several people that would genuinely be willing to help out. I'm just worried about the numbers, that's all.

But right now I dont think there is a link like that, right? And dont refer to the download link, you cant send someone to a download link and expect him to download it without knowing what it is.
Basically its free.

Negative nancy's i.e. LF/24. Supporting Reaver's idea with some time (post on the forum) is way easier than giving out money or invest work. My time is too valuable to waste it on working for free
& giving away money isnt my style. But posting around a little in another forum isnt too hard.

Will your new forum have a private subforum for ages 18+ where we can post rambunctious naked female elves covorting with salicious also-naked-and-female dark elves?

LF, what kind of things have been asked of the community that can be compared to something such as posting on a forum?
If that money tournament was a thought, cancel that because the backout rate will easily be double that of the tourny. All this is, is just going on a thread to post w.e, if anything people might just repeat a topic that they've posted here.
But yeah, idk abt others, but i really don't see myself backing out from something this simple, where there is no real loss to me, but a buncha minutes per day (And I'm sure most people here have their screw-around time where they just surf the net and realize how boring it is)
