Yes it's been brought up many times but in order for this to work all the servers have to be ASSS. You can easily display another zone on the ?arena list inside of an ASSS zone.

Another issue is that some zones don't even want this. Why? All the zones need to cooperate together. Not happening.

These are the weekly, monthly and yearly population graphs from hyperspace. The blue line is people (not bots) actually playing, so it's not usually just 2 people playing. So new players won't just go in, see nobody playing and just leave. They may very well play there and continue to play there. You can also see there playing and overall population has gone up since early November when they started to add 1000 to their population.

Another thing, aside from the ridiculous bot inflation (I Just went to log in and see three people playing, not 1021), is that the DL size is ridiculous. If that doesn't make a new player quit (by clicking on most popular arena and seeing it will take an additional 10 minutes to download a zone, I don't know what will.) This needs to decease. Any new player thinking it takes that long to download-to-play once they already download the Continuum executable will, much like I did, hit escape. Unfortunately, they will not continue on to TW, but will close out of SS all together, never to open again. I know I wouldn't if I were them.

Since there seems to be no diplomatic solution possible, I do suggest we make a client that only lists trench wars on the zone list so new players downloading from trenchwars.org will just assume we are the only zone. I know this is possible since I recall downloading a client from Death Star Battle's website at one point and DSB was the only zone listed. It would be idiotic to spend money on advertising just to have other zones steal those players by manipulating their populations.

At first I was going to disagree by saying we need to act civil since we are part of the SSC network. But, Hyperspace passed off this inflated number as a "glitch" for the longest time, and now we know it is intentional.

I say we pull a Zuckerberg and just fuck 'em in the ear and leave and make our own client. I don't see why we are letting an 11-member zone fuck it up for us.

To be honest I've never really understood why TW didnt do this in the first place. You just make the step of entering TW that much more difficult by having the different zones. Besides, if we make the effort of advertising, why should they enjoy the benefit.

adding 1000 is bad, but they didn't start it, they are just reacting to the bs tactic of combining populations by the 3 other zones. but putting themselves in the #1 population spot by such a huge margin kills the game for all newbies and any chance we have of getting new players into tw will be in vain if we don't do something, i suggest tw only links and only listing the tw serverr as people have suggested, or at least eliminating the hyperspace serve, is the simplest option cuz these idiot kids in hyperspace aren't going to be helpful.
