For everyone that's wondering why my post was edited, I posted a screenshot of all the bans oO.Oo made over the past 3 months. It is against the rules unfortunately. He has banned approximately 37 people since January 13th (god knows how many more since he was made staff) all ranging between 1 day to 180 days. I've banned like 5 people in the 2 years? I've been staff.

Actually in the post before that (before it was edited) I did mention due to his position he has to edit some of the bans, which will place his name on the ban even though it weren't him who placed the ban, but go look for yourself.. most of the bans were placed by him. Yeah, ?go base and TWD has been dead the past few days during the hours I've been on, so when I've bothered to stay logged in I've been passing the time in pub. John Galt and Tower are straight up racist trolls who show up day after day, though Tower does mix it up with really technical-sounding copy pasta he probably gets from wikipedia or something.

And I mean, it's not even a case of a couple of racist jokes here and there that you could pretty easily ignore. It's line after line after line about every fucking insult to non-whites in the KKK handbook and then some. The motherfuckers will go on half hour-long diatribes about how all blacks are sub-human and shit like that, but they'll never actually use a slur, so lazy or just plain shitty staff members who are online can't be bothered to do anything about it.

These fuckers are flooding chat with the crudest racist thoughts and getting away with it. If anyone deserves a brutal ass-reaming it's these guys, but I'll settle for a simple extended ban. Don't even wait for them to go for round 57 of their racist roundtable, just lay down the ban hammer the next time you see them online. When a troll is instantly recognized by a dozen people, I'm pretty sure they've exuded enough vitriolic filth that they don't deserve any further observation by staff. You're not gonna be harming an innocent player who just annoyed a few thin-skinned whiners. You're gonna be eliminating the kind of lowest common denominator scum that has no place in this game.

I'm trying to steer clear of this as much as possible, but I don't want everyone to get the wrong idea. oO.Oo is an Assistant BanG Operator, alongside EvilDeed. Demonic is Head Op. O4 is the most active of the three. He spends hours fixing bans/bancs, and other things. He replaces a lot of bans, edits a lot of bans/comments, and even lifts them. His name comes up a lot because he does his job, not because he's ban happy.

If oO.Oo did his job, which is completely behind closed doors, then the public wouldn't be complaining about the guy now would they? doesn't make sense that a staffer would get this much abuse if all they did was edit bans, lift bans, fix bans and "other things". The guy loves his power and everyone thinks hes a douche. Enough said. If I get axed for this then so be it, I'd rather express my opinion.

Oh yeh, I actually don't have a problem with oO.Oo, I think he comes across as a nice guy and generally does a good job but I think he just goes about his staff business the wrong way. And yep, he knows this, we spoke about it not long ago.

As far as the "37 bans"...Just some info on how this works, any time a ban is edited (e.g. reducing or changing the ban comment) it shows that you are the one making the ban. I don't know, I feel as if this thread is a bit ridiculous

I think people are either too quick to judge someone or assume all staff does is abuse their powers and get away with it, which is obviously not the case here. oO might be strict on following the rules and warning/silencing people for racism and other general misbehavior, but in this case you weren't even warned/silenced nor banned Jerome. It was obvious you were just having fun by saying 'jihad' and your name was in no way racist, but i'm sure oO understood that part. The way he handled it might not win the beauty contest, but his intentions are good and for the best of the zone. I find it funny that some of my own staffers seem to take this on to personally attack oO, which is totally not professional nor anything that will do your future in staff any good. Sure, having your own opinion is fine and everyone deserves the right to speak out what's on their mind, but think about before you actually say or post something on public staff forums. Try to be tactful about it, for people with years of experience in staff I shouldn't even have to say this, same goes for posting sensitive staff information on public forums. And trust me, if any staffer would clearly violate rules or make unjust bans, Demonic or me are the first ones to remove the ban and warn the staffer about it.

Also, it seems not many of you know that oO has been playing TW for years and has been staff before in TW aswell before he decided to move over to DSB and eventually become sysop there. I think a guy with this kind of experience shouldn't have to defend himself everytime and deserves a little more credit than you're currently giving him.

About Tower, we're pretty fed up with this guy, he has had numerous silences of multiple days now, so the next move is that he will continue to spread his useless nonsense in other zones like EG soon if he goes on like this...

Jerome, if you wish to personally address this issue to me and wants things clarified, just talk to me in game. Same goes for getting oO's side of the story i'm sure.

Where is all this hate coming from? Now, I do know that he has done a few poor calls the past couple of months, but in the end he's only a human; we all make mistakes. He's active and gets the job done, some may not agree on his methods but from what I've seen he has done a quite good job as Assistant BanG Operator.

In respect to oo.oo's "37" bans... in 2008 and 2009 I banned WAAAY more people than that. The new stuff we have now to silence players and stick them in non-bombing ships cuts down on the number of bans. I used to be the racism nazi(no pun intended) and banned everyone and their mom for racism. I had quite a few complaints back in the day, but now most just silence the player for a while. I'd say the general population of TW has it pretty good right now, when it comes to bans.
