BUG: Google Chrome wouldn't let me load any webpage while using continuum resizer, I thought it was my net for ages, then closed continuum resizer down, and web-pages loaded as normal.

Meaning this is useless for me lol.

That's odd. I'm using Chrome right now, with Resizer open and Continuum running in rezised window on my other monitor.

@stark it doesn't stretch any resolution, so if you're playing at 640x480 on a 1920x1080 screen, it will only appear as a 640x480 box. It is possible to hook into continuum a bit further and make it stretch/compress any resolutions. I had it so i could play at 2048x1536 shrinked down to 1600x900 (just testing).

So if you want to be fullscreen, make sure to play at the display resolution your monitor is set at.

@slum I'm using chrome fine, and i'm quite sure chrome doesn't using directdraw to render lol, weird. guessing that's an issue with your gfx card or driver, continuum's hogging the gpu so chrome can't render maybe? try software emulation in Advanced Options. (also i assure you resizer doesn't interfere with any process other than continuum)

Lastly the randomly not working is quite annoying, but i'm hoping no one will be in a habit of quitting and restarting continuum a lot -- so it shouldn't be an issue. I'm working on other projects right now but if i have time i might spend more time trying to fix it, or opensource this.

Sigh, I'm an idiot. Thanks weasal, my res on my smaller monitor was 1680x1050. Setting it at that, it covers my 21" monitor perfectly. This is great, allowing me to type this very message while still be full-screened and watch the game on the other. As a mod, I can see this especially useful while I'm hosting... allows me to pay attention to the game but still do other things.... Like creepin' on Facebook or trolling on forums.

One thing I don't like is when you escape+Q from the game, it just closes out completely rather than bringing up the start screen. I also have some issues sometimes where it doesn't resize, so I close out of both continuum and resizer and open them up again (resizer first, then cont). Sometimes it can take 3-4 tries before it works.

Edit: Earlier, I tried to ?go gatez and it crashed (just disappeared, didn't even have the Windows crash notification or anything... And then a second ago I hit Alt to look at the map, and it did the same thing. Using Vista, btw.

A surefire way to get resizer to work is to launch continuum first, then resizer.

I don't know how to program batch files (aka windows scripts) but if someone could write something that launches continuum then resizer automatically i'd really appreciate it.

Idk about escape+Q though, for me it brings up continuum's main ui (start screen?). Sometimes though, it crashes the game altogether and i have to restart both. no idea , ish is hard to figure out... but glad it can help others too .

I could have sworn that I read to run resizer prior to opening Continuum. Anyways, doing it the right way, esc+q came back to main UI, I'll see if anything crashes now that I'm doing it the right way. Thanks again

Nope you read right! (Sorry!)

I told you Continuum then resizer because of the problems with it having to be restarted and such (but it's not the way i imagined it should be used). I made it flexible to launch either one first, ideally you just launch Resizer once on system startup and it runs silently in the background.

And regarding the crashing -- in my experience (and to my great frustration), crashing occurs randomly regardless of whether you launch resizer first or vice versa.

One of the major reasons it's buggy like this is priitk (the programmer for Continuum) made it impossible to debug code running inside continuum to prevent hacking. It also hinders me from tracking down bugs in Resizer.

I'll keep this thread updated with any changes I make, though for the time being i don't plan on any major modifications.

I haven't had a crash in the past few hours, since I changed from Continuum then Resizer. Also, I was playing earlier and clicked onto Facebook, forgot to click back on game-- Could still control my ship. Didn't even realize I wasn't clicked onto the Continuum screen until I tried to hit escape and the menu/chat didn't pop up. Come to find out, you can still move your ship, use afterburners, shoot, bomb, lay mines without having the Continuum window as the active window. So sweet, makes me love Resizer program even more.

I just wanted to reiterate how awesome this program is. If you run duel monitors, this is the best thing ever. If you don't-- Well, it's still great. When, I had one monitor it was always so shitty to have to alt-tab and go check a Facebook PM or how getting a window (like an IM or something) would mess you up and take so much time to get back in the game). I know I sound like a freaking pitchman, but, this is so great, I can be full-screened on my secondary monitor (which I never could have previously) and still move stuff on top of SS on that monitor, and watch or simply click over to be back in the game. I can click back onto the game on one monitor , or continue browsing my facebook on the other. Yeah, I know, windows mode.... Windows mode is shit compared to how awesome this is. And still, no crashes since I went from Continuum then Resizer. I know this wasn't designed for duel-monitors... But, you developed the single-greatest program for dual-monitor players. Best, thing, ever. When I bought my new monitor, I always imagined subspace in one, browsing the interwebs on the other... This made it possible. Weasal. this was the best thing ever.... It makes it funnier that you didn't design it for duel monitors-- but, you helped this game out further than you think.

This is a great program. A damn fricking-good one. Like I said, I haven't had a crash like before since continuum then resize.... That's what makes it, hands down, the best Continuum Add-on ever.

Cool program but I'm a bit confused... What's wrong with playing windowed?

Also, I saw Ultramon mentioned which is the absolute greatest thing for dual monitor users. I have some really useful hotkeys setup, for instance, one of them automatically moves and resizes the cont chat window to where I like it when alt tabbed. Let me know if you want the script for it or something similar.
