Lift 6 months ban for G.R.R.R. and replace with 6 months silence

Staff, are you kidding me? 6 months NET ban (from all zones in SS) for a joke?

The Staff that made that ban is a joke and all that support it. For a joke you give a 6 months silence. Otherwise it is obvious that the staffer that gave him a ban for a joke is butt hurt.


All those in support of G.R.R.R. post here and let the Staff know they are wrong and they should think about reinstating G.R.R.R. back in the game and perhaps removing moderator powers from the Staffer that banned G.R.R.R.


I remind you all G.R.R.R. was banned for a joke that he types in pub and was net banned for 6 months. It does not matter at all what he said there in pub chat, you just do not get net ban for typing crap, maximum you deserve for that kind of activity is silence for however long, but not a ban.

As I said before, there's no reasoning with TW Staff (most of them anyway). They rather ban decent guys from this game than hire them and do something constructive (tnx to Cres for that awesome reminder).

Let me try a constructive approach for once, since it doesn't involve me. Do note that I am no longer a staff member and haven't been for some time now so my opinion is based only on my personal experience.

First off, there is only 1 person in the entire zone that can issue a ban of that duration, much less a net-ban. So for this grrr guy to receive both of those things means that the ban was most likely given by 1 staffer, then reviewed and increased accordingly due to sufficient proof of whatever it was he did wrong. Now I don't know what he did in this particular case but I do know that it is EXTREMELY common for an offender in Trench Wars to downplay whatever is it he/she did wrong in an attempt to get out of their punishment and/or make staff look bad. To see examples of this just find the 500 threads wiibimbo made about me when I was a moderator and note that nothing was ever changed or done to me. Even though staff doesn't need any help from the playerbase to make themselves look bad, with instances of long duration bans like this one there are very strict protocols in place to protect the staff...meaning there has to be PROOF beyond any reasonable doubt that a very serious offense was committed.

I know from 1st hand experience that bans are not handed out anymore like they used to be, as we cannot afford to be banning players for minor offenses with our declining population being the way it is, which was the reason for creating the silence/shiplock system a couple years ago. So despite the fact that a large majority of the current staff wouldn't be able to tell their ass from their elbow I can guarantee that grrr did not receive this 6 month net ban just for making a racist joke in poor taste, even if he had near constant multiple offenses for the same exact thing. Whatever he did was a serious offense and their was proof in the shape of logs/screenshots/server info to back it up.

After a little more research he was not banned for making a racist joke, he was banned for posting child porn and links to additional child porn which is not only illegal in TW but any SSC zone (hence the netban) and a federal offense regardless of what country you live in. He will be lucky if a spaceship ban is all that happens to him
