We have actually been paying for the zone server as well, for the past 5-6 months. Priit still pays for the SSC player database server.

but its for the bot servers and things
priit pays for the zone server and the billing server, and nothing else

If you guys have had no response AT ALL from priitk, how many different ways have you tried to contact him?

Are we talking about one old email/phone# (that he probably stopped using years ago) that he used while he was here at the time? Or was somebody in staff his good friend and had all his contact info?

My main question would be:
Has anybody attempted to contact him THROUGH his new businesses like asi? Because if the answer is "no" then I don't think staff can soundly say they've made EVERY attempt possible to contact him.

AFAIK, there were reliable ways the Net Ops were able to contact Priitk. My knowledge goes as far as what Mom and PoLiX would talk to me about but up until recently, Priitk could be contacted for emergency situations.

I think someone needs to contact PoLiX. The way he used to talk made it sound like he was the liaison between the net ops and Priitk himself.

chances are ssc can migrate data to the new location and the transition would be invisible to all players except zone owners without needing a reset of any kind

Who might those be? Where can I read an explanation of the structure of Continuum staff?

Nobody has been able to contact PriitK. Not that I am aware of. There are a number of issues he's been contacted about by a number of individuals whom previously had direct contact with Priit. No repsonse that I'm aware of, and the issues are still ongoing.

With development unavoidably being a grey area in terms of access and privileges, but I can assure you that dev is of little concern or consequence in terms of disputes about rules, or why donation money hasn't been spent, or why X amount was spent on X useless item. TWDev has just recently been granted the privilege to spend donations at its own discretion.

If you have or heard any good ideas please let us know. We're actually going to spend the money, not just talk about it. We just don't want to waste it on a poor idea, so we have to figure out together what the best ideas to pursue will be.

What exactly does "no support from PriitK" mean? no response? 100% against the idea? or he just wants absolutely nothing to do with the game anymore? How many attempts have been made to talk to him, and what was said?

Did he ever PERSONALLY ask staff when he left not to make his contact information public?

No support from PriitK means exactly that. He is not responding to any inquiries that I'm aware of. He is hosting the zone (SSCU Trench Wars) and the player database (SSC), but he has not responded to any inquires (that I'm aware of). Many zones (including TW) have been asking PriitK to 'whitelist' new zone IP addresses (to connect to player database) for a few years now. Many have been inquiring about Steam, no reply from Priit. As far as I know, he hasn't responded to any inquiry about anything. If he is responding to others, I don't know about it. Inquiries are still being made regularly, and hopefully Priit provides some support in the near future.

This problem has spawned discussions and projects for new clients and has even prompted the Subspace Council to consider ditching SSC and launch a new player database, since Priit isn't providing support for the player database he is hosting for us and every other SSC zone. The problem there is that we won't be able to copy the current player database to the new server, so we will have to send out messages saying "The player database will be reset on January 1st. To reserve your player name on the new player database, visit this link:".

Cross your fingers for response/support from Priit on the issue of Continuum's present and future. Although a move to a new player database (and eventually game client) will be inevitable without support from Priit.

There are threads about this everywhere. Search SSForums for priitk to reveal a ton of threads about these exact issues.

We couldn't/can't get on Steam because we have no support from PriitK anymore and we need him to give Steam/Valve the legal OK. They don't want the liability and certainly don't like the fact that the people submitting the game don't have the source code, and cannot make any changes to the game.

Can you link me to a few? I'm searching the forums but "where to spend donations / ideas for donations" doesn't yield very specific results. I'm finding a few, but there's probably some good ideas buried here. Do you remember any specific ideas?

just search donation and you should find results. i forgot the names of people who had the great ideas. (ephemeral might be one of them)

why hasn't staff manned up and announced that the steam project failed yet? a proper effort without the expected results would be respected but just hoping the subject gets forgotten and giving 0 feedback to the public just makes them look more incompetent than they already are.
