i think this filter is kind of stupid, but hey... it was almost asked for. if you get angry with the way the forum was moderated because you got slapped on the wrist for one of the very few words you cant say and then go ape****... why the hell not just restrict everything.

if you dont want this forum moderated, put a useful argument out there that aligns itself with vbulletin's policies.

As of current, I am working on altering the rules to be better aligned with the new word filter. Even without the vBulletin policy crap, I still think the filter is a better option moving forward.

I will likely be completely redoing the infraction policies, as my initial ideas aren't meshing well with how they currently work. I'll also let you know I intend to lessen the harshness by reducing the decay time for lower level infractions (which will result in getting banned only for repeatedly breaking rules in a short time frame)

if you're going to stretch the ToS so broadly as to lump bad or offensive words in the same category as actual obscenity/racism/whatever,

then you should definitely check out the part of the ToS where it bans any sort of content that might, in any way, give rise to civil liability or infringement

(such as a reverse-engineered video game cloned from a copyrighted product)

Have you ever read the definition of obscene? Do you find the **** or **** to cause you uncontrolled sexual desire demonic? Do you find the use of as shole to be disgusting or abominable or repugnant? If so you should be writing letters daily to every broadcast tv show ever to end this terrible usage of words that sexually arouse you while being abominable or repugnant.

But lets be honest here, this entire thing is a ****ing joke, this boiled down to you sitting there pissy because "they are acting like kids" and then your staff members (shaddow/azov) do something retarded and you have to step in and fix the problems so you figured that straight up censoring the forums was the easier thing to do. Instead go with option three here, remove those two clowns powers and lets all pretend like this same garbage doesn't happen every six months, let the forums run themselves like they always have been ran. If this censoring does stay that this mean that I can still link to music files and video files of people using words like "****" and "*****" because if not man.. you sure do have a bunch of work to do, what is it now.. 11 years of youtube videos and rap music links and exalt freestyling to go back and delete before they remove our forums because of terms of service violations.
