Lead your targets.
Practice in safe so you know your ships spin. ie. Arrow keys and shooting at rocks.
Always good to turn off your thruster animation as well as its sound.
Background is optional.
Learn how to use your radar maybe turn on quartering/boxes.
The most important when you are in base is communication with your Terrier. F7 warps all ships to them for base battles.
