Staff to lazy or just not enough?

STAFF?!?!
I just was wundering what you all think about our current staff.. I think some are great! But others :/ im not sure. Yo jo helps me with allot these days also pred but they are really the only ones that replyed to my ?help messages! Well, my opinion problably means nothing but hey i just was wundering what you guys think..

When you weigh in all the factors, I think the staff is generally pretty good. The important factors to me include the fact that they aren’t paid and are doing a community service. However, volunteer ‘community service’ positions, such as TW staff positions, can be manifested into several detrimental things.

First, positions of ‘power’ can attract those who relish the ‘power’ a little too much. The key here is to make sure that those who join the staff are mostly interested in helping the game long-term. If this maturity isn’t there, then you end up with egotistical people who simply like to ‘throw their weigh around’ and abuse the power granted to them. It’s actually kind of sad that people would attempt to become empowered through an on-line space game, but some do. (Just as some seek empowerment by being a cop, security guard, teacher, or parent).

Secondly, people can develop a poor attitude after months of dedicating their time and efforts in a voluntary position. You can see this with foster parents, social workers, and humane animal folks. They have a ‘holier-than-thou’ attitude where they are ‘better’ than others since they are contributing so much.

Thirdly, many people simply burn-out after dedicating themselves for several months with little appreciation, gratitude, or recognition.

In conclusion, I view the staff as a dynamic and ever-changing entity. Some staffers have a substantial and long-lasting positive impact. Some give up before they even start. Some burn-out but hang in for long periods of time. A few are real ‘movers and shakers’. A few are real boobs. All of it is done for ‘free’ so I try to be appreciative of that fact and cut them slack. Before this thread goes south and turns into a bitch and flame session, I truly hope everyone stops and considers these things.

What I find really amazing is that there are good and decent people trying to pull this off, and doing the best they can so I can come home from a hard day at work and blow off some steam (and without paying anything!) playing TW. I do thank each and every one of you who have helped in ways to make this game and community more enjoyable for us all.

In my opinion, there are some staffers who could be replaced, but in general, i think they do a pretty good job!

Yes u 2 are right there are some awesome staff out there!!
But some may be better replaced. Im just wundering what other people think. im not saying that staff is lazy or sucks. just saying some of them arent as active as others.. Maybe some of the really active ones should be reconized!! for a big example

I think mama and push do a great job in recruiting right people for the job (i think they made a mistake with me tho

I know alot of people have problems with staff, but all of us do our jobs and if we don't we get axed.
