MVP designation

I understand the reasoning of the highest point player being given a MVP award at the end of a game in a game where all ships are the same but the logic escapes me for matches where different ships are used. A terrier or shark has no chance of ever being designated as MVP in a basing match. It's my opinion that the person with the most points in a basing match may or may not be considered the 'Most Valuable Player'.

I feel that the MVP (in basing matches) designation should:
a.) be named something else like 'Highest Scorer'
or
b.) some other way is developed to allow all ships to compete for the MVP award
or
c.) get rid of it all together

I agree. The only terriers who could get MVP are Myth and Warpo.

It would be nice if the MVP could be voted for like in hockey zone.

Yeah, you could do it like hockey zone, where everyone pms who they feel was the MVP, and they can not vote for themselves.

The problem with that is.. like in hockeyzone everyone is either too lazy or doesn't care enough about the MVP so they don't vote. But one person does vote and the person that, that guy voted for becomes mvp.. even if that person doesn't deserve the MVP.

nope, pallies and disoblige have so good spids they get 150+ kills a match

Serious question: does it really make a difference? Is anyone excited for any longer period than the two seconds following the green "MVP: YourNameHere!"?

I have seen quite a few people getting MVPs in sharks before.

I got MVP in a shark once (20 mins basing game), 90+ winz 60+ losses, my average was like 150+.

Not really wrong ... out of 100+ basing games I have attended I have only seen MVP sharks 3 times (including myself).

I used 'quite a few' in my last post in this thread because it's counter intuitive for a shark to get MVP, even 3 is considered 'quite a few'

No, he's right. The chances of a shark or spider getting MVP are slim to none, even though they are the really the most important players in the game. Really, the only way you could calculate it fairly would to have it include rating and average. Or maybe make it calculate MVP in each seperate ship, like;

Ship 3 MVP: Ephemeral
Ship 5 MVP: TelC@t
Ship 8 MVP: Stabwound

a voting system would be cool, especially in big matches where there are easily 50+ spectators who would all want to vote. i just hope they'd vote for the player that actually did best and not one they know as one of the best basers or is one of their friends. cuz then it would be utter bullshit. but i'm almost sure this would happen since most ppl have no clue.

no mvp would be good, but in the best squads the players don't really care who gets mvp since going for mvp only hurts your teaming, and the squads with players that actually go for mvp will probably never get far. same for twld/twlj. so it's also a good thing maybe.
