Download the LVZ Toolkit.
Go into your Continuum zones directory and into the Trench Wars folder and find, then Drag & Drop the mario.lvz onto the DeBuildLevel.exe, then the ShipSet will be extracted (along with a few other files).

I made a zipfile of the Mariokart Shipset and Soundfiles. Just download it here, and follow the directions in the readme.txt file. Make sure you read note about Rolling Ships, because the shipset won't work correctly if you don't do what it says.

one thing that sucked about going from continuum .37 to .38 is that special zone and arena graphics are no longer kept in the folders or whatever. i used to pick graphics that i liked from other zones such as dsb and put them in my tw folder, but now that is more difficult.

if you're replacing all the images in Continuum>graphics you may as well just delete (remove to another folder/etc) the rolling images (wbroll, jvroll, etc) - then you will not have to disable rolling images...they simply will not exist and continuum will not bother with them

you can also just put the graphics into the zone (or arena) folder of your choice and leave your standard graphics alone altogether (same applies to sounds)

its still not that difficult, get the .lvz decompiler or whatever
