I never thought of spec hunting as a good method to hunt people with (for the reasons TK posted).

There should be a rule about the opposite thing though, to use spec as a method to find empty safes and then go there...lame people like Utopia frequently use that method to get to a safe with your levi...which is kind of annoying.
