There was a very good population graphs that was hosted on SubSpace.net created by Maucaub .... when SS.net went down, so did the pop graphs.
A little bit of info about the population system:
- Requires Perl
- Requires MRTG (which runs on Perl)
- Requires MRTG be running constantly in the background, either as daemon or via batch script
- Requires a custom exe of programers own coding that interfaces with MRTG
- Requires that the directory list be downloaded periodically (was currently every ~5mins)
A directory download doesn't require much bandwidth by itself, but it may add up over time since it's repeated every 5 mins, in case that is an issue, but it should still be less than most anything else people host. A typical directory after downloading can be around ~14MB/day.
So, anyone know where we might be able to find a free host that can support this?
