SS or Cont?

Last night my buddy was raving over this new online game he found. I questioned him about the name he told me it was called Continuum it honestly took me about 30 mins to realize that he was talking about Subspace. Has the game been renamed to fit with the new players and changing of the times? Why not Change it back to the old name the one everyone knows.

Does it make that big of a deal to you guys? I know its just a name but to me its will allways be Subspace.

are you retarded? even if you do call it subspace (i still do) subspace is gone... it's all pretty much continuum now, i mean, you have to have continuum to play tw, how would you not know what he's talking about?

After version 1.35 Priitk changed the name to Continuum when he created the new client for copyright reasons. The same reason Subspace got it's name, that game was originally called sniper.

No one had rights to the source code of Subspace, so Priitk had to code subspace from scratch which he then renamed to continuum.

I forgot my password to the forums and I ekpt trying different pw's I use. So i tried 5 different ones and they all say wrong password so i pressed back to try again and it logged me in outta nowhere. ya

For someone who hasn't played from SS-Continuum it would be a little confusing. Continuum is a much better client. It's more efficient from what I have been told in the networking aspect. The game is still subspace but the most popular client used is Continuum.

I generally just call the game itself Subspace and only refer to the client as Continuum.

For the next generation of players however, might just start referring to the whole thing as "Cont". (Speaking of which, ever notice how PriitK, Dock> and now "Cont" are all spelt very similarly to certain slang terms for genitalia?)

ya i know i meant to make it a new thread but i was going to reply to this and it got mixed up. your an ass to everything i post arn't you?

click on "Continuum.exe"

change it to "SubSpace.exe"

open notepad

type in "SubSpace"

save as "title.dat" in your Continuum folder (change that, too, if you like [along with any shortcut names])

voila - now you're playing SubSpace .38

Priitk probably did do it for copyright reasons.

Yes, I know that nobody owned the source code...so technically, nobody owned the name, at least that's how I understand it.

So if I'm right..Priitk just planned ahead so that if by some act of God someone did obtain rights to the name "Subspace" then Continuum would be out of the blue.
