How old is TW

Some newb in pub was telling me that he quit playing TW 8 years ago... Funny thing he was in TW telling me... Anyway, it raised my curiosity. How old is this arena? I didn't play here when it first started so I have no idea. I believe this zone started up around the same time VIE left. I do remember when VIE left, but I don't remember the year. Actually I'm almost 100% sure TW was a little before VIE left, right?

My earliest memory of TW is from grade 10 when I was in my class scribbling down tiny pictures of l33tz0r banners. I am what you might call a nerd. Lemmie think... Last year was 1st year university.. So... that would make grade 10 four years ago.. I started in TW around 4-5 years ago then.. So its older then 5 years, right? HELP ME OUT HEE HEE HEE

I started playing SS a long time ago. I don't really remember playing anything else but TW, that was 6 years ago. If I had to guess I'd say it's nearly 7 years old.

From what people have told me the zone that is TW was some kind of test zone for another zone.

I'm pretty sure SS started in 95, meaning that it is 8 years old. The retal release was in 97, and that makes me think that the VIE collapse was in 98. I played TW once right when it started, and then quit SS when VIE left, so I think TW must have started in 98 or late 97. So 5-6 years seems about right to me. I'm sure someone else knows more.

during the VIE times, trench wars was hosted on the independent 2xt3 server... then later it became the flagship of the iNET servers. the iNET era was when different zones required different versions of the patched subspace client... i remember that very well because i used to play hockeyzone and tw religiously, but i had to keep redownloading patches everytime i switched back and forth. it sucked.

The original creators of Subspace itself created another game after Subspace called Infantry. They originally were owned by Harmless Games and they began around 98-99 and then aroudn 2000, it was bought by one of the biggest gaming corporations, Sony Online Entertainment. It too went into pay to play mode on May 1st 2002. Because of this, I had nothing to play now until I found from one of the original alpha testers for Infantry that most of the alpha testers played Subspace originally. Thus, I began playing here :P

I wonder where Jeff P and Rod H are? I'm pretty sure their next game will be highly addictive as this one and all the others.
