TOP 100 PUB'ers ?????

funny thread; its all about gameplay time during the 2 week session. That's why it's ridiculus to list top pilots using POINTS, you should take into account kills / deaths, that is a good indicator. I've seen newbs in TOP5, with more deaths than kills, yet they are like 5th place in the points department.

Also, they still haven't put TOP 3 PUBLIC ARENA PILOTS, which right now is misleading. All you have to do is go into subspace main.html, change some text..heh... I can't recall, but someone else pointing this out a few months ago.

Exactly, within the first month of playing this game, I hung out in pubs almost 24/7, and wasn't working at the time. I work now and have a little less time to spend the majority of my time playing in pubs, plus I have other interests within Trench Wars.

Not all new players play pub, you get the occasional bored twl type, who has nothing else to do.... maybe waiting for a match or some season to begin..etc.. So they kick ass in the pubs, since they have tons of experience and all the newbs are lost.

IN Trench Wars the majority of the sort of players you'll meet is this...

TWL -> ELITE to Semi-elite
TWD -> Semi-elite to regular
PUBS -> regular to newb
ELIM -> elite...semi-elite.... occasional newb

The problem with most stats is that they rarely tell how the person got those numbers. Nonetheless, I've always considered Rating to be a decent barometer. I've always considered 1400-1500 to be a good benchmark. While you can still get a high Rating by freq-hopping and what-not, it's still a much better indicator than W/L. Looking at all the stats together instead of focusing on just one or two would probably give a good indicator of one's style.

What the numbers still do not tell is what kind of ships the pilots fly or how much better they make their freqmates, two very important factors when looking at a pilot's worth.

yeah, i agree with the rating thing. sometimes i play for rating too.. too bad it cant really be used as a main stat cause it can be abused.

The problem is, any one can get good stats by hanging on a freq that's good and holds flag. Get on a good base freq and hang in the middle of the base with the others and pick off all that come up. It's like, how hard is it to "vulch a player. He shoots at you and then the other guy on your freq shoots that guy. I have noticed that all the "good" players drift from pub to pub to find a top notch team that can hold flag and is hangin in the middle and "vulch" the other team , and most times that other team has only half there players pubbing the other half is spawning and duelin at safes. For the roof , wow I been hanging up there since I've been playing and and with some good aim and knowledge of the angle of the dangles, you to can pluck off people that fly up either side to get to roof. 9 outa 10 times they all fly the same path to make the route to roof so aim, shoot and bingo you scored. Same goes for pickin' people off the roof , you fly up either side along the rocks and fire and hit most that hang round the edges of roof. Given time spent and some skill and aim , you to can become a ratings whore. This game is ancient and very simple and doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out. just spend time in any ship and a private pub, learn the angles and time of release and some practise , you to can be a great pubber. The map never changes and once ya got the map read , your in with flynn. Well some angles have been jacked but that's about it, the over all map is the same as its been for ages. I've been playing like 3-4 years maybe and I haven' t seen much changes to it , that has been that drastic.

Some of the best pubbers in no particular order and no bias against levis nor their terriers. Judged by effectiveness in their respective style of play (flagging, LTing, solofreqing, spawnbirding etc.):

Talon - Self explanatory

Daze_ - Self explanatory

rathamon - Consistent terr. Terrs for flag and levis with equal skill. Very hard to kill.

WiseCherub - Killer aim. Probably picked it up from dueling Talon and daze, as I did.

JimboJimmy - Always in your face in either shark, spid, LT or bird.

POOLSHARK - Just as annoying. Has picked up a lot of tricks in a small amount of time. The clever bastard is only the third person I know that can counter the ent shot apart from myself and Bero.

HEATHA - Very scary to play against. Very...energising to play with.

bigwig - A monster of pubs. Hates levis as much as I do, but I'm crueler to them. He just Xs/AWs them.

Launch Pad - Makes shots in jav that boggle the mind. Very accurate, very deadly.

Yomama!!! - Devastating shark. He can hold off more than 2 sharks alone with relative ease.

Troll King - Likewise

Puffy300 - When not being carted around he will make short work of regular spawnbirds and announce it with that stupid kill macro.

DaFarmer! - Likewise

Ganryu - New fellow I've noticed floating around roof and sides constently dueling or camping roof. Is better than 3/4 of pub 'birds already.

JeffHardy - Terrs for levis efficiently and is frighteningly aggressive in jav or spid.

Material Girl - When she's not doped up on depressants she's quite err...flexible, in basing ships.

Lunch3 - Crap name, not crap spider

BobR - Best known for the BobR shot. Pretty self explanatory.

RyanG - Pubs sometimes, and when he does, makes it very hard to beat his freq.

Ajaxee - Enters the game in terr, leaves in terr. Profficient in all it's uses.

bounty*killer - Filthy levi whore, but can jav/spid well too.

Mooties - Stay in NZL4LIFE!

Me - Care to argue?

WRs - Born and bred in pubs and we don't suck. GG!
