  • javs

Someone might have already made the suggestion above, but i think a way for the team to 'vote someone out of their ship' would be a good way to limit javs.

say if the bot got a number of votes in a certain amount of time (1 minute?) it would automatically shipchange someone.

There are definetly problems with this approach -
some people dont care enough to vote
squads with a lot of people/friends could kick anyone out of their ship anytime they wanted

But at the moment it seems like a step in the right direction

I think we should implement a pub bot that penalizes players for teamkilling.

Like in half-life when you teamkill there is a server mod that allows the victim to do damage to the player like

    1. Take 30% health
    2. Kill player who teamkilled you
    3. Vote the kick player from server

Anyway, there are several things we can implement. I think the most fun and irratating one would be engine shutdowns, or random warp, or perhaps a ship change like you said.

Engine shutdown makes the jav pretty useless, but it can still warp.

In other words, i have no solution.

        Can the offender be freq-changed?

That would be cool if the TKing bastard killed a teammate and then suddenly found themselves banned to a private freq... by themselves.... unable to chg freqs at all except to go to spec.

        Just fantasizing....

the idea was proposed in gophar's post that a certain few would be chosen to make wise, unbiased decisions about changing problem javs

probably ZHs and up, then a few others, kind of like the people with bot powers in ?go base. these people would just pm guanobot with !change <name> and they'd be set to a spider or wb

there are obvious draw backs to people who become power hungry, but if they work with an unbiased attitude, it could make things funner

or an alternative would be that the bot would change people automatically after a certain number of tks in a given amount of time, and message them with something like "if you don't want this to happen again, practice jav elsewhere by yourself" and they wouldn't be allowed to hcnage back for 30 minutes
