There is no reason why you should be discussing wether or not racism is bad or not, this is a game forum. The game has a very nice built in feature called "?obscene" if someone says something with a word in it that is blocked (obscene.txt) the message doesn't appear at all on your screen. So if you can't handle seeing language of that nature I suggest you turn "?obscene" on. You also have to remember, racism is part of just about every culture in the world, it's not going to end just because you started some thread on the Trench wars forum.

If you can't handle seeing discussions of this nature I suggest you not participate in them. You also have to remember that as long as racism is an issue some people are going to find it wrong and distateful, and they're not going to stop discussing it just because you don't like reading about it on the Trench Wars forum.

If you find the above arguments silly, then believe me, they sounded just as silly the first time going the opposite direction.

It seems like posts about racism bother you more than racism itself. You may not like to discuss these issues or reading about them, but they sure are a lot more productive, and more important than most of the other things that crop up on these forums.

the obscene list doesn't cover every possible racist/prejudice term as there are thousands not even taking into account swapping "i" for "1" and such like, think before you type.

at the end of the day, if ppl want to be racist they are going to be racist. Whether we ban all racist words from the game using ?obscene ppl will find ways around it by changing the word slightly. It isnt the word that makes something racist, it is the context in which it is applied and ?obscene does not take into account context.

If the word isn't placed inside the 'obscene.txt' then the word shouldn't be ban worthy. Either get them in there or just do away with the rule all-together, which is the more logical choice anyways. Because, you're not going to control racism, it's just stupid to even try. If you're bothered by someone saying racial comments just use ?ignore like any mature person would. Also, for the "change i or l" comment, refer back to the '?ignore' section of my post.
