Play the ship you are put in. At least you were put in and still not sitting in spec. Build up a reputation for yourself first, then start requesting or whining about ship play.

I remember when I was in my first years and I was invited to #bleen #mantra etc, and I didn't get to play at all. Then they put me in a spider, which I hated, but I played, and then a shark.

Once people see you are a good player you will more often then not get the ship of your choice. In sum, play the ship you are given, don't whine, and just be thankful.

I think the idea is ok, I just know as a captain I would get frustrated with trying to pick 10 people and each one is like "I would rather jav then do anything."

Already, when I captain, I get pissed when I pick 3 people who have !notplaying on. Or when I pick a person who has ?away !notplaying, and fucks up the whole balance of picking.

I think this is easily solved without any bot use. When you are picked, ask the captain to be changed to another ship, or ask the team if anyone would like to switch. The fact that you got picked out of 30 people by a captain should be good enough for you to play in the ship you were chosen to.

This makes it easier though. If you tell the bot which ships you want, then the captains will get the say on who plays where and not bother picking those who would whine about their position.

Back with #bleen and even with #adman (#basers etc etc) I was grateful to even get picked, which was usually a spider. I think with ?go base people are so spoiled nowadays that they are able to get away with whining to get their ship.

I like Zeus' idea, because it doesn't neccesarily limit any ships, but it lets the caps know exactly what everyone wants, without the whining neccesarily.

Yeah, this is a horrible idea. If someone actually has the problem that they get picked too often in ships they don't want, and then whine and complain about it, then maybe they don't deserve to play at all.

I don't think caps should shark. If they know how to jav it's the best ship for a cap as then there is plenty of time to do all the subbing.

I'd like you to read this quote by Zeus a few times. And please, try not to confuse his idea with Telcat's retarded ass idea. This function would (possibly) help some of the newer caps on who is good at what ship, or who can actually play that ship. Doesn't mean that they have to be in that one particular ship, or whatever ships they prefer. Anyways it'll always come down to the caps decision on what ship you play or not.

For people like Telcat, after you get picked for shark just tell caps you won't play on their team unless they change your ship or ask them before you get picked. It wouldn't be noobish because your not asking for a particular ship.

I like playing spider, but sometimes I wanna shark. I remember for 3 consecutive games I asked for shark, then caps laffed at me like to say 'yeah right, you think I'm stupid or something'. But I'm a good shark and I never get a chance in base. Even my squad doesn't want me to shark because of my spider skills. So my advice above might not work, but try it and it might.

Try this: Press ESC A, select Pub 21, then press ESC <# of ship desired>. You're garanteed to get your preferred ship, and you won't have to ask anyone for it; hell... you don't even have to be picked. And the best part is: If you want to change, then you can do it on your own. Try this out. Then stop bitching.
