What's your favorite key prefs?

Everyone seems to have their own custom set of key prefs. What is yours?

I'd like oppinions for basing key prefs. I don't think there is one best key pref set for all basing ships.

Anyone ever create a macros load program for the different ship prefs they like to load different prefs for the different ships? Kinda confusing to change, just curious if anyone has made that.

I use the F keys.

F1 Warp
F2 Lay portal
F3 Burst
F4 Fire

F5 Boost
F6 Repel
F7 Mine
F8 Bomb

F9 X radar
F10 Rockets
F11 Scrool through menu
F12 Enter game

Arrow keys steering.
0 on key pad = Attach

I set them so that Terr and shark are the easiest using the F1-F5 for terr and F5-F8 for shark.

If i terr I use the F1-F4 for my home keys with my pinkie on F1 and index finger on F4. For shark I just shift down to the right 4 keys pinkie finger on F5. And I steer with my right hand on the arrow keys and attach with my pinkie on the 0 number pad.

For shark that works out very well. I do have trouble using the boost when I am terr. However, I don't use boost much so that is not much of a problem.

If I could I would like to set up the keys so 1 finger = one function and I didn't have to use the pinkie for a function b/c it can be a little slow at times.

Any thoughts? I wanna hear what people think are their "leet" custom key prefs. Share share.

R - multifire on/off
caps lock - boost
D - portal
F - bullet
space - burst

RIGHT HAND:
ctrl - attach
arrow keys - steering
num pad 0 - warp

rest default
Pretty good keysetup if you play in TW and don't need bricks and stuff.

Congrats JackieChan>, that is the strangest keysetting I've ever seen. But I'm sure it works for you. I'm not going to say my new elite setup, but I doubt most people would like it anyways. Burzum is right; whatever setup you get used to is going to work the best for you. But I really don't think the default setup is optimal; especially the repel setup that requires 2 buttons, and the rocket being F4...

Default with num locks off, the only thing you need to move your hands for is attaching and rockets.

just default and about that rocketing im a blind typer and i know all the keys so i can even rocket without moving my hands just my finger

ive been using my Racing Wheel and Foot Pedals while i've had my broken hand.

Gas - Forward
Brake - Backward
Wheel Left - Left
Wheel Right - Right

Wheel button 1 - Shoot
2 - Bomb
3 - Thrust
4 - Attach

and i still use the keyboard when i dont feel like using the wheel
