I have a question--why are squads that have the owner as *unknown* still squads? shouldnt they be reset?

The reason he posted it here is because one of his points was, 'do you have any squadnames'.

I have no hope left for the human race if the concept of trust has been lost. If he uses a squad, when its dissolved and you ask him to give it back, why would he do otherwise?

I mean yeah, maybe shady underground users might steal names, but it's za gopher. If he were to ever steal (which i can guarantee he wouldnt) you simply bring it to these forums/in-game, and his reputation is smeared.

I agree about name-hording, thats why I give my squads/names away whenever I can. I mean, wow guys, i own a cool name, now im elite ss player. sheez.

an smod (i forget which right now) told me a while ago that when a user name gets reset due to inactivity, any squads that the user name owns gets ?squadgrant'd to *UNKNOWN* and after a few days they get ?squaddissolve'd and are available for eager newbies or those people who sit around collecting names and squads all day to jump on. You know that *UNKNOWN*can't be a real person because its name starts with a character that isnt a number or letter, so don't go trash talking a figment of your imagination.

From my understanding, they only get dissolved if does not have any active members

yah yeah, i know its a not-real person, i was just wondering why it just doesnt instantly dissolve

i talked to plat-halo, he says its because it means someone is still on the squad (active or inactive)

I believe they did a reset of all those squadnames that belong to *UKNOWN* a few years ago. I'm a little vague on how it works but I just remember Evi and a few other guys getting a lot of cools squads.

it wasn't years ago it was months, and i got a few squads but all the other guys got all the good ones mostly.

Pff, btw there are corrupt smods who reset names for friends, thats what I heard from some name collectors. (from other zones)
