< newbie, how do you change a bmp to bm2?

you do a right click on the file and you click rename and change the file extension from bmp to bm2.....newbie

In order to be able to see the extension when looking at the file you must do the following:

Open up Explorer or a folder (not Internet Explorer) select Folder Options in the menu called 'Tools'. Go to the tab called something like 'Viewing' then untick the box for 'Hide extenstions for known filetypes'.

You have to make sure you have renamed a file which was originally a BMP. It won't work if you renamed a JPG or GIF to bm2. To change a JPG or GIF to a BMP, simply open it in paint, do save as, and choose the "24-bit Bitmap" in the drop down menu.

Here is what mine looks like (colours are slightly dulled):

I just use bold courier on a black background.
