  • Radar Blip Colors?

Does anyone know if there is a way to change Radar Blip Colors to any custom color you want?

    Right now,

    friends = yellow (always)
foes = blue(normally) or white (if exceed target bounty).

The problem is with foes, white is visible.. but you look at radar fast it sometimes hard to tell the difference between a yellow and white blip dot.
During a twdd match, this can mess you up sometimes and quite annoying.

For me, I would love to be able to have LIGHT RED for enemy blips.

Too bad there is no Continuum Preferences for this, it would have been extremely simple to add too.

In VIEW>OPTIONS>RADAR TAB... just have 3 color selections..
    1> friends color
2> foes below bounty target color
3> foes above bounty target color

Geez, priitk could probably add this change in 15-20 minutes and just do an update Continuum0.39pr2

For Warbird pilots who are into twdd, this is important; since often we just don't have enough time during a duel to glance at the radar.

Though in ELIM, since you have no friends, this is a non-issue.

I bet you there is something you can edit in the /graphics/ folder. I'll check in a bit.

I doubt it stab, I'm pretty sure Cont puts the pixels in the radar itself rather than refering to a graphic like everything else.

How can you mix light blue with yellow? You must either have a crappy monitor/gfx card or you're colour blind

Oops I meant dark blue, yes I can see it, but ona black background its hard sometimes to see well.

I meant if I put target bounty=0, it changes enemy blips to WHITE... so yes, in the heat of a duel, I sometimes get mixed with WHITE and YELLOW.

Yep, Richard, I think Continuum just plots a pixel dot itself.

Perhaps in next Continuum revision they add this, Radar Blip color preferences.

But where do I submit this suggestion? I doube it would take long for Priitk to do.

Actually I looked into this further and you can change the colors in Continuum.

colors.bm2 file allows you to do this.

I now have RED Blips for enemies on my continuum setup.

              You were correct Stab! lol

They should still add this idea to the next Continuum version. Have a client color preference menu in the GUI. With RGB sliders to adjust to whatever color you want for specific feature elements within continuum.

              Thanks....

ps: I believe they made enemies dark blue, since they use red blips for FLAGGERS.. but in TW dueling there is no flaggers, so who cares.....

Even better idea would be allow it to be changed in game with some sort of ?blipclr=***.

Or even a better idea, have a script loader and automate a whole slew of text commands.

                  ?load myscript.scr

and have commands to change whole pile of settings for your client.

                  Yeah, like.... ?color lowbtyradarenemyblip 0000FF

Anyhow, basically for now you just open colors.bm2 with a picture program (paintshop) and goto ROW 33 and 34 to change enemy radar blip colors for low bty / high bty respectively.

try setting target bounty to 0, then you wont have any white dots

I did this initially, but it messed me up. If I remember quickly by setting bounty=0, then it makes all enemy radar blips white. Playing TWDD, seeing WHITE and YELLOW radar blips are sometimes hard to see the difference when you can only afford to glance at your radar map for 1 secs.

YELLOW and RED is much better, quite a difference and easy to see on a black background.

Dueling is quite competitive, any minor tweak you can do on your client side to make things easier for you... use it, so you gain an edge over others.
Don't get me wrong, just changing the color of an Enemy Radar Blip isn't going to make you an ace dueler. But it does help a bit when you do radar sniping, atleast for myself.
