Windows Media Player error

When i open Media Players, it says "An internal application error has occured" and it doesnt open. Any ways to fix this?

option 1: virusscan
option 2: remove mediaplayer and install mediaplayer 9
option 3 remove mediaplayer and install something else like winamp or so

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal...

Try reinstalling Windows Media Player. I think you can also try "Uninstall" then do "repair install" but I am not 100% sure.
