i can only afford a 128MB thing anyway.

anyway i may be getting a new PC next year- could i just stick the RAM i'm about to buy into the new computer?

No. You'll need DDR or possibly DDR2 SDRAM to go with that new computer

Well, a 512 MB SDRAM PC133 DIMM should cost about 100-110 euros, which is about 65-75 pounds if I'm not mistaken.
