Continuum constantly giving me a BSOD. Unable to play the game properly.

So i'm in elim playing phenomal btw. All of a sudden everything freezes and then i get a blue screen telling me that continuum shit on my graphics card. Now i'm not the biggest tech guy out there, but clearly its a problem between the game and my pc, since my pc never crashes when I am playing anything else. Because of this i'm pretty much unable to play the game, and unable to show sundays for my team.

Are there any alternative/safe downloads i can do to play the game? Also, what files may be causing this issue. It gets to the point where my pc gives me one beep and refuses to turn on for an hour afterward. If this keeps up, i won't be able to login anymore.

tbh it sounds more like there's something up with your pc. Let's try figure it out, do this stuff first:

1. post the actual error message, take a picture with your phone or something.
2. make sure you have "No Framerate Limit" UNticked in cont settings.
3. get hwmonitor from https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html and use it to keep an eye on your cpu+gpu temperatures
4. get speccy from https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy and post a screenshot of the summary screen

Hey man, BSOD can be any number of things but most common would be your VRAM on your MB overheating (either because of lack of circulation, broken fan or just accumulation of dust). Your hard drive could also do BSOD if it's nearing the end of it's life. Even if it isn't this would be a fantastic time to back up all your shit just incase it's this because if it is the case--everything will be toast for good.

Other possible causes.. GPU is overhearting or having a fan failure or needs cleaning. In fact, you really should open your case ASAP and just clean it if you haven't. Get in there with canned air and really dust it out. Turn your PC on with the lid open and ensure all fans are rotating properly.

More possible causes would be your Ram is going bad (super rare to happen though but it's possible..) or your CPU is overheating. Might be worthwhile to re-paste your CPU with some new thermal paste. Personally, I use Noctua's paste because I have a NH-D15 but Artic Silver 5 would also be a great choice. You can use Noctua's paste without their cooler's too, I find it works better then AS5 and achieve some great temps with it. A pea size amount is all you need for about 1 year. Should routinely change the paste for the best results.

Anyways, chances of it being due to SS is like 000.1%. BSOD's are almost always due to hardware malfunction or failure. Sorry to break the bad news but if your computer hasn't completely died yet, you have time to troubleshoot the problem. Start with cleaning it and checking all the fans then go from there.

Thanks for all of the feedback guys. Downloading the game from the steam client fixed my issues. Game stopped crashing.
