Troubleshooting black box of death

Can anyone help me fix a graphic issue? For some reason I have a black square surrounding all of the ship graphics in game, as well as random tiles in pub map showing up as black...

I got rid of my mac and got a PC, redownloaded the game and it showed up. Tried an entirely new graphic folder and it's still there

is this a new pc with a fresh install of windows 11 and fresh cont install? or what?

looks like the ship graphic isn't transparent, try a steam install just to rule out something funky with your normal install?

Just uninstalled and tried the steam version and got the exact same thing happening...

think I recall someone saying turning on software emulation in advanced settings might fix it.
