  • Millionth Thread about Video Cards

I don't want to spend more then $150 and here are my options but I want to get the best card for my buck, advice?

    ATI RADEON CHPSET 9600LE 256MB TV/O $129.99
    ATI CHIPSET RADEON 9200 256 / TV/O $129.99
    GeForce 4 TI4200 128MB DDR W/TV $129.99
    GEFORCE FX5500LE 256MB DDR W/TV $159.99
    GEFORCE 4 FX5200 128MB PCI $109.99

I'm currently in WoW beta so I'm looking for a top end card, well not top end but something that can give me my moneys worth. What card would be best suited and the one that runs the best frame rates? These are Canadian prices by the way. This video card will be going in a Acer 2.4 533 mzh fsb, it's decent it suppourts 4 gigs of ddr ram.
it makes me sick when i think of it, all my heroes could not live with it so i hope you rest in peace cause with us you never did

If you can spend a little more cash definatley get this card or something similar because it's the current best (excluding the 6800 and x800 which just came out). It's at $193 but knowing newegg they'll have a sale and the price will drop. But if you can't shell out the extra money then i'd go with this one. The 9800pro will add a huge performance boost over the cards you listed for just a little more money

I currently have the Ati Radeon 9600Pro 128mb. Sweet card, so I would go for the 9600.

Superstar> Yes eve, he does want you to have nice titties. To bad he placed them on the wrong spot. Cup C size balls.

The 9600LE in no way compares to the 9600 XT (which is a great budget DX9 card), basically it's the bottom of the budget range. Only marginally better than the 9200 family, in that it supports DX9, but forget about AF and FSAA. It is the best card of the lot (though certainly not by much) and the fact that it supports DX9 is a small advantage.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend buying any of these cards. Certainly not if you are a gamer. The very last thing you should try and save money on is a graphics card, although, I admit, it's very easy to go overboard on the spendage as the top models are outrageously priced

If I were you, I'd invest slightly more and go for a 9600XT at the very least.
