    Monitor problem?

    If any computer genius could help I would appreciate it.

    My monitor (I think) has a problem. It started yesterday. It keeps turning itself on and off and I can't do jack about it. Sometimes it messes with my graphics, and turns it all around, or flips the monitor screen upside down.

    Every now and then, then monitor turns itself off completely, and a blue screen comes up saying "Out of range", and some numbers. WTF can I do? I haven't done anything out of the usual with my comp, I've only been playing SS, read forums, played minesweeper and watched the porn I already have on my computer, in other words, I haven't downloaded jack shit nor been to any suspicious pages. The monitor cable is plugged in. I already took it out and blew air into it, tried cleaning it aswell. I'm about to try and find some new drivers to my GeForce 5200 (Tornado). I don't think I have enough time anyhow before my monitor collapses and I have to restart. I've been running on overclocked mode (300 mhz - I'm on 2.0 Ghz right now) for the last 6 months without a problem. My monitor is 6 months old, so it shouldn't be a problem, cause it hasn't had any problems before either.

    Suggestions?

    EDIT: I already ran Spybot Search & Destroy, AdAware and F-Secures virus scan.

    search for server.exe, hmmz, no they can also rename it, it is looking like erm.. i forgot the name.. u have gotten an .exe file from some1 or some1 run that and now it has control over your computer, look in the tasklist to weird looking programs, shut those down, and then it should be over

      What resolution are you running in?

      Out of Range means that your resolution has gone past the max for the monitor.

        I have been and am running on 1280x1024. I just ended a whole lot of progresses, atleast 8 of them...omfg. now it start ed again SFHKAJSFASF

          2 Scenarios I can think of

          1. You have a trojan (SubSeven or similar) on your computer. I, myself, don't know much about removal, but try googling.

          2. You may be using speakers which are not magnetically shielded. I once got these awesome speakers. After a few weeks, my monitor then completly messed up, I swapped it for our old one, but that soon messed up. I eventually found out that our speakers were not designed for use with a PC and were not sufficiently shielded for use next to a monitor. Most PC speakers will be fine, but try to put them as far away from the monitor as possible.

            Firefox, jk.

            I think those problems can happen when you overclock you graphics card, but you didn't do that right? But then again if it flips is upside down..

            Have you checked that all of your cables are set?

            As Ewan said, something about a virus.. I'm not sure if a virus can accually do that. But apperently, but since you had already checked for viruses.. you might get help from > http://murobbs.muropaketti.com/

              When you shut them down you don't remove them, if you restart your computer it's on again.

              I think you're hijacked
              What I should if I were you, which I'm not,Download HijackThis, and save into
              c:/hijackthis or something, Then go to www.computercops.biz and post your HijackThis log there---> open HijackThis, press "scan" and then save log.

              It make take a week or two before you get a respond but I had such thingie too once in my dummy life and it helped.

                    i ment to say that he needs to see when if that helps, when that helps, u can see what program it was since i didn't know the name of the program anymore.

                    I played with this program a several times too, nice to fool your sister.

                    You got a server.exe file, that u put on another pc, u figure out what ip it has, or computername, fill it in and BAM u got access to cd-rom player to open it, turn the screen up-side down, etc etc.
