  • Firewall and MSN voice chat.

Does anyone know of a program that allows you to use voice chat over msn through a firewall?

MSN 4.5+ does not let you have a voice chat running whilst a firewall is. I'm afraid you'll have to find some other program or disable your firewall.

          http://webmessenger.msn.com/default.aspx?R=1

Edit: ow, doesn't support voice chat ofcourse

The only thing I can think of right now is setting up an HTTP-Tunnel, but I'm not sure that would work in this case.

it's not me, it's a friend at uni who is a graphic artist with no knowledge of anything other than photoshop and other programs.

Has he even considered contacting the university administrator with his question?
Because it's just a matter of opening up a specific port range in the firewall.
I doubt the administrator would do it though, because opening up ports on request kind of defeats the purpose of using a firewall in the first place.

skype is a good, peer to peer, voice "chat". You can have up to 4 people to chat with, and the quality is very good, and its as if you sit right next to this person when you speak. At least from my experience, other question is that if it works trought the firewall.. :/
