I reckon that system would benefit from using Windows 2000.

i dont even have enough space to create a drive partition so i can install win2000.

The last thing your computer needs is more windows. I reccommend windows 3.1 to your computer and then update that to 3.1.1 (Microsoft has the update). 3.1 is a nice OS: it's pretty much virus incompatable. Windows ME is trash,win 98se is better.

ok i found this mysterious section in my computer.

C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

inside is a file called INDEX.dat and some folders. all in all, the contents of this folder that doesn't show up in my computer total about 500 mb. also, the names are the folders are stuff like: "YZ01K3MN" and "TIJ561KX" etc..

i've already deleted some stuff in them, that was taking about 150 megs, but when i try to delete the folders, it says its a system folder. i can still delete it, but i'm afraid it will screw up my comp if i delete the folder. any help?

edit: the stuff inside is jpegs, gifs, php, css, jscript, shockwave, xml...
some weird stuff is like 60 megabyte HTML files and a 60MB GIF file! :fear:

It's your cache. When you surf the 'net, IE saves bits and pieces of webpages you visit so next time the webpage loads faster because you have parts of it on your computer. It does make a marked increase in loading time (I don't cache files and it's a tad bit slower)

edit: yes, you can delete it. Go to Internet Explorer and click Tools > Internet Options... and click 'delete files'.

ok, thanks. i had to tick the little box that said "delete all offline content" as well.
