  • Outlook help?

I accidently deleted something that I need and then I cleared my "deleted items" mailbox. Am I just fucked, or do those go somewhere?

    My stab in the dark:

Last time I looked, for each Outlook user there is a single file that contains all the emails. Somewhere in the menu options/dialogs will be something that tells you where that file lives. If you find out where it lives, you definitely want to make a copy of that somewhere safe.

This looks like it could help you out, not sure if it is free or not or even relevant.

If you've cleared your "deleted items", they're probably still there but unreachably tagged as dead. Just don't do the thing that's called something like 'compress data' or else it'll squeeze that dead stuff out and it'll be even deader (out of the file bounds).

There must be a way to recover part of it at least and a further guess of mine is, the more you use your email, the more likely it is that your dead emails will be overwritten.

        Screw it.

This woman's gonna be pretty pissed when she doesn't get her $314,000 check because I deleted an email.

Beez, they're gone unless it was an IMAP account (or was it pop3?).
Normally your emails are still in your online inbox from your mail server...
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal...

Then visit their website and see if you can log on there and check your emails. It's possible they still have a copy on their server
