NEVER TRY ACER 4 friends have ACER. 3 friends put it in warranty at least once. AWFULL manufacturing - problems with plastics etc...
but yes. they are cheap. But not good price/quality.

Screw Dell, is cheap and crap.
I would pick neither HP or Apple depending on your OS...

For notebooks, I'd say Toshiba or Dell are the best. Seriously, the only problem with Dell is that you can't upgrade their home PCs, people can be very narrow-minded when it comes to Dell, but their notebooks have yet to disappoint me.

Ice, HP make excellent products, I reccommend that if you dont trust any other company, you go with HP.

Unless you want a Mac, then go with Apple.....

i've had my IBM 300 for about 7 years. never had a single problem with it. I recommend the current T41 or 42 model, for a balance of travel weight/performance. depends though, cuz IBMs are for business and not gaming.

                            Alienware is best for gaming.

Dell is overall decent in all aspects.
