  • A map is made; How does one upload it?

    Hey all,

Once a map (.lvl) file is created, how does one get it uploaded to a private arena? Can anybody point me in the direction of a tutorial/help file, or just offer some friendly words of guidance?

Thanks sincerely for your time and help : D

The command is ?setlevel= then the name of the file. The file must be in your continuum directory. All of the server commands are found here, http://www.shanky.com/server/commands.html.

So, if the map file (map.lvl) was in my c:\program files\continuum directory, I would type:

      ?setlevel=map.lvl

This requires "ownership" of an arena, though; how does one go about acquiring ownership of a private arena (.?go #squadname) that shares the name of their squad? Is that possible?

A former squadmate of mine (on dlc) uploaded a map of his to .?go #dlc, and I want to change it. Basically, I'm asking how I would go about doing that. (I'm squadowner of dlc).

      thanks again for your help

Are you attempting to do this within The SSCU Trench Wars zone?
        If Yes-

Email the .LVL in a compressed .Zip file to twmaps@twsites.com. Also be sure to add the arena name and any other important information.

        Rules for Squad maps:

Squad needs to have 10 or more ACTIVE members and be a valid squad for at least a month (2 server scoreresets) and playing in one of the leagues (TWL or TWD). Also, squad maps can not use .lvz in them however, we can enable a LVZ that is already on the server (such as miniset).

Although it sounds slightly posh, I've always found using "one" to be totally acceptable.

Denuo, all you need to do is email your map to twmaps@twsites.com (colar said all you need to know)

Trench Wars DOES NOT accept private arena maps. (Unless it has a purpose; IE: Squad map/event map). twmaps@twsites.com will be the address.

As for the tutorial on how to make maps; go: http://www.subspacedownloads.com/ind...t=file&fid=813

I know you are trying to change the map, but if you have a zone and you want to upload a map or lvz, just do this: *putfile (map.lvl or ____.lvz) To make it a private map, just add a # to the beginning like #base or #twerp. The lvz doesn't matter as long as it is uploaded while you are inside the arena. The CFG also has to have the levelfiles=(name of lvz).lvz under the [Misc.] tab. (Note: That is just an optional way and you don't have to be in the arena when you are uploading the map. You also have to be sysop)

Today in English, my teacher taught us that "one" is correct because it is definite and saying "you" or "they" is indefinite. It's like saying: In Atlantis, you go to school the whole year. Since you aren't really there, you can say: In Atlantis, one goes to school the whole year.
