Screenshot unknown formats

I have about 30-50 screenshots saved in my Continuum/screenshots directory that I cannot open using any photo/picture/paint program i currently have, it says they are "unknown file format"
The only ones I can open are ones taken several years ago (early 2003) using the version current at that time, .37 or .38 i think.
Does anyone else have this problem? What program should I use to open them? can it be fixed?

If you can't open a .bmp, then you are up shit's creek in the computer-knowledge department. Use MS Paint, or MS Crappy Image editor. Even the browser you are currently using will open .jpg files.

Just rename the files and make them have a .jpeg extension.

My screenshots are all black. I can open them, but i cant see anything.

Err cund continuum screenshots are .bmp

But yeah I had that same thing with .36 I think. I just had to rename them to .bmp.

That's weird if your comp doesnt even read .bmp .........
try re-naming and/or re-boot? Maybe just your comp~
