If you have a Creative soundcard, use your Mixer to change recording source from microphone or whatever, to 'What-U-Hear'.
You can then play the sound and record it in Sound Recorder at the same time. It will pick it up and you can then save it.
Or even better, use a more professional recorder to record it so you can crop it and cut out any dead air.
