ok so recently i bought an optical mouse but it keeps backfiring on me. its plug and play so it cant be some sort of installation problem.

it constantly keeps going to parts of the screen that i dont want it to go to but it mainly heads back to the start menu for some reason..

any tips? has this happend to you? im thinking of stealing a mousepad from school haha, you think it'll help?

    thanks

same sort of problem, except my mouse used to be silver, now faded to a beige type colour where my hand rests.

btw, i have an optical mouse and dont use a mousemat, so i dont think thats the problem

i use it on a wood surface but i took it to school today and it worked with no problems on a different type of wood surface. ahha i just put paper under it and its working perfectly. must be this type of wood then.
