subtitling program

is there a program out there for windows that simple old me can use to add subtitles to a video?

if so, where can i get it?

Some cd burners support it. Subtitles are formatted text files I think and can be added to the same directory that the movie is in.

Your probably don't want a big fat program, but I reccomend Adobe Premier. I use it all the time to edit, and some times subtitle. Takes forever though.

You could also try Virtualdub:

Theres a subtitling filter included. It's very powerful and it's freeware, but it has a fairly steep learning curve.
