Sound board type program

Hey, does anyone know of a program I can use to modify sound that I record? Almost like a effects pedal/processor, except just a digital version that I could download to modify .wavs and such.

JeRomeo, how do you record the music to the computer, any cheap ways? Buying proper systems is too expensive and the good old play-into-the-microphone doesn't really do the trick qualitywise.

I have a Honey-Tone eStudio that has 1/4 and 1/8 jacks, connect the guitar cable in and a computer speaker cable in and run it to your mic jack. Its supposed to be for headphones, bt fuck that!
