  • problem with https in IE

dont say useless shit like change to firefox, because i could but i want to use IE and my dad doesn't like FF. theres no problem in ff, but again, i need help in IE.

ok so when I go to www.gmail.com it has "The page cannot be displayed" error. i also tried logging into rutgers' email and netscape email. these sites all have https:// in the front.

regular http sites work fine. now i'm wondering why suddenly today it decides to break.

here's the things i did today aside from usual:
-installed Sony Connect with SonicStage and OpenMG Jukebox
-went inside norton options, but i didnt really change anything.
-turned various parts of norton off and on right away
    -scanned with norton ....nothing found

oh and i tried to use windows update but it turns out that needs https to work properly.

I think you should convince your dad out of IE. If for nothing else, for the security holes.
      IE: http://secunia.com/product/11/
      Firefox: http://secunia.com/product/4227/
      Opera: http://secunia.com/product/4932/

But on that thing. I dunno, it could be Norton too, I've only heard bad things about it.

Make sure you have SSL enabled in the browser settings (in the advanced tab, 'Use SSL 2.0' and 'Use SSL 3.0')

Would it be out of the question to start talking about other OSs now? :fear:
