  • Java Runtme Environment (JRE)

Yeah, I've found the reason my download speeds are so crap through any Java P2P client is because the JRE I'm using (which is the most up-to-date one) is crap.

I'm sure there's one that will run well out there and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it.

There are only a few very specific circumstances in which incompatibility with the Java 2 SE 5.0 platform can occur. In 99.9 % of the cases a pre 1.5 java program will run correctly.

        There's no place like 127.0.0.1

I have 1.4.2 SE and my download speeds are just awful.

Are there no configuration options for it?

Java is slow to begin with.

What do you mean "downloading through Java"? What kind of java program is it?

P2P software, so that means LimeWire and most BitTorrent clients.

I use BitComet for my torrents because its C++. I'd just like LimeWire back to how I remember it. I rarely top 13Kb/s
