    Hey guys,

Had this problem for ages back at home (moved to uni now, with a new PC) and thought that it's probably a problem with my PC rather than anything else so left it. However I've been getting the same problems with my new PC aswell, here it is:

Everytime I try and open Continuum after more than 5 minutes of my PC being on, or running other applications first (usualy I-tunes) it doesnt load at all, and all my CPU processing usage stuff gets completely used up, obviously making my pc really slow down.

If you go into processes manager, you can see the continuum.exe jumping about up and down the list, and it wont let you stop the application from running.

Thing is, if I open up TW as the first thing I do when I turn the ol PC on, it works fine every time. Bit annoying eh <_<

As a sidenote, with my old PC back at home, I would sometimes get an error for a few seconds before the PC would restart/turn off after not loading Continuum saying something like:

'Could not open application as Windows station is shutting down'

Thanks alot guys, dont know if this is on the right forum as its not strictly a TW problem

this is a really old topic... i had the same problem with my new computer... if i can remember right heres what you do:

    1. First off...remove any and all spyware remover programs... they cause a lot of problems that a technogeek could really get into...

secondly... if you have an anti-virus like norton etc etc, it can cause problems...i didnt remove mine but just know it can be a main reason

    2. Google RegClean.exe and download it. Use it to remove corrupted/unused files from your registry that the spyware remover/antivirus created. Just hit the little button on it, you dont need to know the file names.

    3. This may not be necessarry but redownload continuum (mine as well get .39 anyway)

    4. you should be fine now

I forget all the issues of why this problem occurred.... but its mainly a Windows XP thing... and i cant tell you why it happens i just know that continuum fails to start for some protection fault or something that the spyware remover/antivirus programs create so it just jumps around your applications window because the system wont let it start up

Try creating a new user. Right-click the shortcut, choose "Run-As", select "The following user:", and select the new account. You can alter the shortcut to have it always run as a different user.

            Os

What OS are you using? It would be helpful if you provided computer statistics.

EDIT - I was *the kites were flying very in the sky*, so I missed out on you saying that you used Windows. Sorry

Have you tried using XP Repair Pro 2? I had this same problem after my registry was tampered with by a virus, but XP Repair Pro 2 took care of that.

I belive we are suffering from the same virus, even though most all traces of the virus i had are gone I still belive its affecting my KERNEL32.DLL which I belive is a main DLL needed for Continuum. Ill try to find that Xp repair pro 2 program and see if that fixes anything. Sadly to say if were not able to fix our problems the ones who have been inflicted by this will ultimately need to just re-format and lose all the gigs of valuable porn.
