  • My desktop disappeared?

I've got a problem and I've never met one like this. It doesn't mean that it has to have a difficult solution but I don't know what to do with it.

I suddenly got this "Raze Spyware" on my computer about two days ago. First it was just a program that popped up once in a while so I uninstalled it but after some time it took over my desktop as a black banner with red text "WARNING SPYWARES ON YOUR COMPUTER" and two links with the text: "buy Raze Spyware only $49.90". I couldn't get it of so asked help from my friend who sended me Hitman Pro 2 "Spycleaner". I ran it a hour ago and it worked well, except that my desktop was gone! All the shortcuts and such are there but the background is changing between white and beige. I tried to get to it's properties as normal to change it's background picture but windows tells me that there is no desktop.
Any ideas how to get my desktop back?

    -Thanks

No idea but if you are using Internet Explorer to do your surfing, you may want to use a different browser.

What windows are you running? Yeah, switch to Firefox or Opera if you're using IE for the sake of your computer's health.

Yay I got it working! The problem was that the spyware had somehow made a Active X webpage on the desktop which was over the orginal desktop.
Here's what I did (in case someone gets this problem too): I went to the control panel -> display -> desktop tab -> customize desktop -> Web tab -> delete the component "Security".

        P.S.

Yeah maybe I really should change away from IE but it's somekind of obsession of using it. :P

So you're running W98? I was thinking it might be active desktop shit.

For about the last 4 months i've been using just a plain white background because when I change it, it resets right back to white, I'll have to try that B)
