changing areans

when i try to change arenas either by ?go Esc+a, lag explodes +1500 ping. this is pretty consistant, and i can play fine if i choose to stay in arena i logon to. net traffic dosent seem to be a factor, 4pm or 4am. i play on my school network, and i get 30 ping 0.0 0.0... before i try to change areans. iv tried others computers and same problem. my same lab top works fine at home. the school says they arnt blocking any ports or anything. browser works fine. am i the only whos expericence this problem?

Some schools and ISPs use packet shaping to stop people from accessing game servers and P2P stuff on their networks. There are ways to get around it such as changing your MTU limit through the registry on windows but I and my class mates have had no success so short of hacking, which means the end of your academic and professional career, you're stuck with it as is.
