    Processor

    Ok, I have an abit KT7A motherboard (socket A) and am looking to buy a new processor to shove on it. On the abit website, it says the motherboard can support:

    AMD Socket A Athlon (100/133MHz FSB) up to 1.4GHz

    Does this mean, Athlon 1400, or does it mean the athlon which will run at 1.4GHz which is the Athlon XP 1600?

    Never mind, further delving I've found it means the Athlon 1400. No point really, they're pretty hard to find, and it won't be much better than my current 1000

        yes.... but this PC did cost me £90 like 15 months ago....

        Might end up buying one of my housemate's old mobos, it can support up to athlon xp 2500 I believe which you can get for about 40 quid.
