Oh crap, cant start continuum

ok so last night i got some spyware shit or something, and i downloaded windows defender, which got rid of it. afterward, i was in computer-health mode, so i decided to run defrag for the first time in forever. i put it on, went to bed, and it took forever. it got done with the compression part, but when it started defragging i decided that i might as well just use my computer anyway cause it was taking forever. so i double clicked the continuum icon, and this is where the problem began.

it gave me the hour glass, but the program never actually opened. just hour glass forever. i reset. still the same. i uninstalled and re-installed. same. i fucked with my firewall, same. i have no idea what the hell is up with it, but with twl and all tomorrow i need it back.

anyone have any insight as to what may be going on?

and i am also having trouble booting in safe mode. i have only tried to do it by F8 so far. this should work though, and it isnt.

ok using msconfig i was able to restart in safe mode, but it did nothing. i tried to open continuum in safe mode and it still gave the hour glass.

take off all the windows protector stuff or whatever and see what happens
it doesnt hurt to try and if u want u can just reinstall it
u could also try reinstalling continuum also

Opening anything while you're defraging is asking for trouble, turning your computer off in the middle of it is begging for it.

Do the magical rollback thing XP has if you can. If you reformat (you'll probably have to...), make a partition for windows with ample room for programs and another for your files. Some people also make a 3gb or so slush partition which is handy if you torrent a lot.

Not the answer you want to read, but scanning for and removing problems is rarely worth the extra time vs re-installing if you keep current back ups of things you need.

wasent eny spyware/adware/firewall or antivirus blocking it.
I just had the same problem and just fixed it.

i also have a problem
my computer has been fucking up lately so i deleted a bunch of shit (including continuum) so i re-downloaded continuum. i can open continuum and everything (i can go to profiles, options) but when i go to the zone list continuum freezes and i have to ctrl+alt+delete to close it
then...after i've closed it through End Now i try to open it again but it wont open. so i ctrl+alt+del and go to the processes tab, Continuum.exe is listed. i select it and hit End Process then hit yes (it asked are u sure u want to end process?) but it doesnt remove from the list, and with continuum.exe still in the process list, if i try to open continuum it gives me Fatal error 00000bc
i tried restarting but it fucks up when i go to my zone list again (which i have to b/c all the zones are in red)

download it and open the zip, place the file in the same directory as continiuum.exe. then right click on continiuum.exe and choose propetis or somethin, then change the source to:
C:\Program\Continuum\Continuum039pr1.exe

i already have continuum 39pre so when i tried to extract it to my continuum folder it says "overwrite file?" so i said yes....then it said continuum 39 is password protected and asked me for the pass, normal?

no... I just downloaded it to my desktop and then just copied the files.. no passwords or any of that shit needed
