If you are upgrading to XP from any windows operating system, just pop your CD in and choose upgrade.

If you want to delete Windows, just open your command prompt and type "format c:" and answer "y" or yes to all the questions it will give you..

I also use to find it very easy to reformat by making a boot disk. I used to use Ultimate Boot Disk, back in the days. I would pop in the floppy and select full disk format..

Just boot up the system with your windows CD (if you're using XP). Choose install windows and do a quick format on your current partition. Backup anything you need before starting.

if you put in your windows cd and your windows just starts up then go to your BIOS and change how your computer starts up and put your cd-rom drive first. and then just follow the instructions. I suggest you pick fat32.

Why why why?? NTFS is superior to FAT32.

Unless you happen to want to flash the firmware of a piece of hardware that requires you boot into actual DOS to do so.

On the PC I don't use for much anymore other than flashing hardware the system drive is a partition in FAT32, and the data (few games and junk) is an NTFS partition.
