  • Wireless Controllers

Well I bought one because I wanted to have 2 for my Gamecube to play Super Smash and some other games. The only thing is I think it's a piece of shit. I've never used a wireless before (the only other console I have is a Super Nintendo so I'm behind in the game) and I don't know if this is how all of them are. It works but I have to be fairly close to the receiver. This is inconvenient because I keep my Gamecube on my desk shelf thing so it's always a good 2-3 feet higher than my hand level when I'm playing.

I want to know if this is how all wireless controllers are or do I just need to return my lemon and get another wireless. Or just general thoughts on wireless.

what kind of controller do you have?

i play SSBM on my friend's GC, and we have no problems, sit like 5 feet away, etc... but the controllers appear to be official nintendo wireless controllers.

after a quick googling, yeah, they're called nintendo wavebirds, and the amazon reviews all give it a range of 70-100 feet

I have G3 Wireless. I'll amazon and see what it says.

EDIT: Hmmm well I popped in my two player game and the controller works marvelously on it. But for my baseball game where I have to press multiple buttons at the same time it still is a piece of shit. Maybe I'll take it back and get a Wavebend or whatever; some amazon.com reviewers reccomended it over the one I have.

Wavebirds are good, my mate told me they work perfectly from outside of his house
