  • For those New Players Experiencing Sound Issues

    http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=11437

    Recently found a common issue amongst those visiting the Tech Support forum, and this is the issue/solution.

    Pass it on to any new players, cause this is with the installer on SSDL/GetContinuum.com Portal/Other sites.

      just to note as far as i'm aware the getsubspace.com installer doesnt have this issue. so as a workaround you can use that installer for now....

      edit: the offical installer is fixed now i think

        The Installer at getcontinuum.com hasn't worked for me.

        Infact, going into my sounds folder and changing the extensions of gun1.wa2 & gun2.wa2 to .wav then playing them makes NO sound whatsoever. Silence.

        For some reason their's no sound when I explode either, only when others die. I tried the same thing with those sounds and they seem ok.

        Very strange.

          For now, here is the manual fix:

          * Close Continuum if it is open
          * Go to C:\Windows\system32
          * Copy or Cut (preferably just copy to be safe) the folder named Sound
          * Go to C:\Program Files\Continuum (or wherever you've installed it) and paste this in there
          * Open Continuum, and you should have in-game sounds

          Continuum's menu sounds are included in one of the dlls, so you might get sound in the menu, but not in game. This is the manual solution until the installer is fixed. When the installer is updated, you will be able to just use the installer and re-install.
          Good help you are bringing, altho perhaps having it in this topic is what people like too.

              Everything I've tried from both here & ssforum.net has failed to have any effect.
